What is the LUCKY FOUNDATION Internship Program?

The Lucky Foundation Internship Program works at the college level to prepare talented diverse students across the country for corporate readiness with business soft skills, real world leadership development activities, academic and career support. In addition, the program offers an opportunity to take a stand with ingenuity, compassion, resilience, fortitude, and integrity in order to pay respects for those that fight for our rights and our freedom, help protect our families from harm, and gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Our rigorous career development training process will challenge you to commit to excellence and raise the bar on your personal expectations.

 

Are internships guaranteed?

This is a competitive process and internship opportunities are not guaranteed for any candidate. Candidates hear about internship opportunities based on availability and are matched based on major and/or career interest that fit with internship roles. Corporate Partners who interview LUCKY FOUNDATION candidate(s) make the final hiring decisions.

 

Are internships paid?

All LUCKY FOUNDATION internships are non-paid interships.

 

Are internships only during the summer?

LUCKY FOUNDATION Internships are available year-round on both part and full time basis. All opportunities are remote.

 

Are internships only for undergraduates?

LUCKY FOUNDATION primarily offers internships to Full-Time undergraduate college students. However, we have are always in need of trailblazing volunteers!

 

How are candidates notified about internship opportunities?

LUCKY FOUNDATION Talent Directors match students to opportunities based on the candidate’s major and career interests as that are a fit for the requirements specified for each internship opportunity. 

 

What services does LUCKY FOUNDATION provide its Interns?

Leadership development is essential to the success of the LUCKY FOUNDATION process, which combines career relevant, paid work experience, corporate mentorship, instructor led and experiential courses. Intern participation with coaching and training are required as a part of the internship.  Interns benefit from the potential for a multi-year internship, potential for a full-time job offer, personalized coaching from an LUCKY FOUNDATION Program Manager, and networking with executives and career-minded peers through the LUCKY FOUNDATION Internship Program.

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM APPLICATION

 

What are eligibility requirements for consideration for an LUCKY FOUNDATION Internship?

  • Attend Regionally Accredited Colleges/Universities

  • Full-Time Undergraduate Student with at least 1 summer or 27 credit hours remaining before graduating college

  • Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.8 or higher.*

*If you are a First Semester College Freshman input 0.0 for your GPA in the application

 

When is the online application due?

LUCKY FOUNDATION accepts applications year round. 

 

How do I update information on my internship application?

Once your application is submitted, you can update your information by emailing program.initiatives@theluckyfoundation.com.  Candidates can update Cell Phone, Home Phone, Email Address, Street Address, Major, Graduation Date, Classification, GPA and College or University.

 

What happens if my GPA falls below the LUCKY FOUNDATION requirement?

LUCKY FOUNDATION requires a minimum cumulative GPA of at least a 2.8 to apply and remain in consideration for internships. LUCKY FOUNDATION accepts the GPA given by the candidate’s current college/university. If your educational institution does not accept transfer GPAs, neither will LUCKY FOUNDATION. If cumulative GPA drops below a 2.8 your application will move into inactive status until you notify us the GPA is back above 2.8.

 

Does LUCKY FOUNDATION accept international students?

LUCKY FOUNDATION selection process is not based on citizenship status.  Students who meet our academic prerequisites are eligible to apply.  Hiring requirements are determined by our corporate partners and are subject to their hiring practices and requirements which include but are not limited to citizenship and/or ability to work without authorization.

 

Where should I send my transcript or resume?

You are required to submit an unofficial copy of your transcript to THE LUCKY FOUNDATION when you apply and after each term is completed. You may submit documents to program.initiatives@theluckyfoundation.com using the same email associated with your LUCKY FOUNDATION intern application.

What should I do if I am no longer available but I want to be considered in the future?

If you are no longer interested or available to be considered for the LUCKY FOUNDATION Process; submit your opt-out request to Cancel My Internship Application to be removed from our active contact list. Your application will not be removed, but will be deactivated.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE PROCESS

 

What steps do I complete to be considered for an internship?

(1) Complete a Process Review Session (2) Submit a One-Page LUCKY FOUNDATION standard formatted resume to program.initiatives@theluckyfoundation.com (3) Complete the Candidate Prep Session Workshop; which is designed to enhance your corporate interview readiness and provide you with an understanding of LUCKY FOUNDATION and our corporate partners’ expectations. (4) Complete a successful Mock Interview (5) An LUCKY FOUNDATION Team Member has to approve your resume for corporate internship sourcing.

 

When am I considered a LUCKY FOUNDATION Intern?

You are not considered a LUCKY FOUNDATION Intern until you are offered and accept an internship from one of our corporate partners. Submitting an application or interviewing with one or more of our Corporate Partners does not qualify you as a LUCKY FOUNDATION Intern. You must accept and start an internship with one of our Corporate Partners to be a LUCKY FOUNDATION Intern.

 

What is the LUCKY FOUNDATION Candidate Prep Session (CPS) Workshop?

The LUCKY FOUNDATION CPS is a mandatory training workshop for all qualified candidates designed to enhance your corporate interview readiness and provide you with an understanding of LUCKY FOUNDATION and our corporate partners’ expectations. Participating in an LUCKY FOUNDATION CPS is mandatory and is part of the process.

 

Is the Mock Interview required?

The LUCKY FOUNDATION Mock Interview is a practice interview to help us gauge your interviewing skills and determine if you are ready to give a successful corporate interview. You should complete a mock interview close to your Candidate Prep Session completion. If you are not successful with the first attempt, you will be given the opportunity to practice on your own and to complete a second mock interview.

 

Does LUCKY FOUNDATION require use of its resume template?

Your current resume must have ALL of the required sections of the LUCKY FOUNDATION standard resume template(s). Your resume will be reviewed by an LUCKY FOUNDATION Talent Leader to ensure it is in line with the LUCKY FOUNDATION Resume standards. LUCKY FOUNDATION Resume Templates

 

What does Match Eligible mean?

Match Eligible means you submitted all required documents, completed the CPS Workshop, participated in a successful Mock “practice” Interview and your Resume has been approved by an LUCKY FOUNDATION Manager.

 

How soon after I become Match Eligible will I hear about internship opportunities?

LUCKY FOUNDATION matches and sources candidate resumes based on fit and available internship opportunities.

 

Do I have to interview with the company(s) LUCKY FOUNDATION matches me to?

Before submitting your resume LUCKY FOUNDATION will contact you regarding interest. If you receive an offer please notify LUCKY FOUNDATION immediately to discuss the offer. 

 

Does LUCKY FOUNDATION pay for relocation and transportation?

LUCKY FOUNDATION does not pay for relocation or transportation. Most LUCKY FOUNDATION Corporate Partners DO NOT provide relocation assistance. LUCKY FOUNDATION encourages candidates to first consider internships offered to them in their home region for ease of housing and transportation.
